What is Emerging?
Emerging is a 2-yr period where a Family Specialist or Mental Health Specialist endorsed professional can begin providing qualifying hours of reflective supervision/consultation to others while working towards meeting the full ERS requirements.
Requirements for Emerging
- Maintain Endorsement as a Family Specialist or Mental Health Specialist
- Complete the ERS Add-On to your application
- 5 hours of training specific to providing RSC
- 2 References
Why Emerging?
There are some professionals who, in their role, are required to provide reflective supervision to professionals going through Endorsement. It is important that the need to develop RSC skills doesn’t create a barrier to being a provider of RSC.
While Emerging you have 2 years to…
- Receive: Receive 12 hours of RSC about the RSC your provide to others
- Provide: While you provide RSC to others for a minimum of 1 year
- Train: While you participate in an additional 15 hours of training specific to providing RSC
Do I have to do Emerging?
No, RSC providers are encouraged to apply for ERS when they have met the requirements. You may already have the full requirements met, or it may make sense for you to meet the requirements first, and then apply. Consider who you provide to and choose the journey that fits best.
